Welcome to ASHRAE Bi-State Chapter's Web Site.

If you work in the HVAC&R industry, chances are you either have a row of ASHRAE handbooks sitting on a bookshelf in the office or a stack of ASHRAE Journals at home that you have not had the time to read yet. You know what ASHRAE is and what it does, but what you may not realize is that they have a local chapter for its members that live or work in the Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland and Orange counties in New York and Fairfield County in Connecticut. This chapter is known as the  Bi-State Chapter.

ASHRAE Bi-State Chapter

One of the 15 chapters in Region I, serves its members by offering technical seminars, presented by industry professionals, and the opportunity to network with colleagues. The Chapter has also organized tours of high performance LEED accredited buildings and other sites of interest to its members over the years. Our meetings are normally held at the Casa Rina Restaurant in Thornwood, NY on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. You are invited to visit our Events page for details on future meetings.

Guests are always welcome at our events but we encourage you to join ASHRAE to obtain the full benefits of membership. On behalf of the Bi-State Chapter, we hope to see you at our meetings during the 2011-2012 season!

Stephen Leporisz

In Memoriam
Stephen N. LePorisz 1983-2010

We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Stephen LePorisz, the President-Elect of our Chapter. In a very short time, Stephen had defined the role of a leader with his vibrant spirit and passion for knowledge. Stephen joined the Bi-State Chapter not only for professional development, but also to bring new life to the organization. Through countless hours of hard work, determination and networking, he was able to prove himself. The remaining officers of the Chapter will undoubtedly continue to emulate his fortitude and commitment to the organization. Most importantly, Stephen was a dear friend to many of us within the Chapter. He is and will continue to be missed by all those who were fortunate to have known him.

His family and friends have established a scholarship fund in his honor at Manhattan College, his alma mater. Contributions can be mailed to Manhattan College, Office of Planned Giving, 4513 Manhattan College Parkway, Riverdale, NY 10471. Checks should be made payable to “Manhattan College” and the memo field should read “Stephen N. LePorisz Scholarship Fund.”

Please make every effort possible to donate so that we can keep Stephen’s memory alive.
